Why you should know your benefits as an employee

Oftentimes, we tend to ignore what is written in our employment contract, especially if we are talking about snagging your dream job. However before you do that, it will be better to read through what are you entitled to get in case things get sour before you say &lsquoyes&rsquo to your contract. One of the things you need to look at, what is the company&rsquos standpoint in the sickness benefit area. Truth be told, we need to be assured that the company we are working for sees our health as their main concern, most especially if they expect you to travel on different locations or if they expect you to change your body clock to accommodate the clients. Next is the leave benefit that you are entitled to. Of course, even if this is your dream job, you still need a break to recuperate and refresh yourself. Government policy is to allow employees to take at least 10 holidays which can be converted to cash if not used. These are just the two most important benefits in your career life. This is government mandated and should be followed by the company you are working for. If you do not see it in your contract, demand for it or decline the offer &ndash even if it is your dream job. You do not want to slaving for someone who does not see you as a person.
