My Trip to Akihabara Was an Electronics Junkie's Dream Come True

I've just returned from Japan. The highlight of my trip was Akihabara, a district in Tokyo that's dedicated to all things electronic. The place is HUGE. It really is what I said it was - a district! And what's more, it really does cater to the "otaku" (the nerd) in us. I found old computers there for sale dating back to the 70s, and I could buy all kinds of intricate parts too, like pin diodes and even a custom built soundcard that was an impulse buy of mine - yes, they were selling bespoke electronics there! Now, THAT'S what I call a market, when the seller actually made a unique device, one of its kind. These bespoke products were mainly computers whose spec was built to perform particular tasks e.g. for music creation, 3D rendering etc.
After Akihabara, I had to chill out in Ueno Park (adjacent to Akihabara) - sometimes it's all too much and you need a bit of zen peace and quiet!
