Problems with my laptop and using an external mouse. posted on 31 October 2010 I have purchased a new laptop and i am loving it because it is a lot faster than my old desktop machine was. The only problem i have is that my mouse does not seem to work with it. It is plugged in to one of the usb ports and was the same mouse i used to use before so i know it works. I have been googling why is my optical mouse not working but found far too many results to really find out anything useful. Most people just suggested getting a new one because they are so cheap. I do not want to do this really because it is a good mouse and i am a bit broke after buying this laptop to be honest. I hate using the trackpad on the laptop because i play games on here too and it just does not work well enough for that. I have tried different usb ports and stuff and even went back and tested the mouse to make sure it wasnt me doing something silly.

I've got no problem connecting them up through a wired connection but wirelessly I am lost. I want the wireless connection because I hate cables and wires running everywhere, as you can imagine when I'm at a gig they are running all over the place, but when I'm at home, I want everything neat and tidy, and if there absolutely have to have a cable then I want it out of site, out of mind.
